Alpha Testing Version Now Available

I'm excited to announce that VST Manager has reached its alpha testing phase! The first working version has been distributed to a select group of testers, marking a significant milestone in the project's development.

Current Alpha Status

The alpha version is stable and functionally complete for core VST management tasks. Testers can now experience the full plugin scanning, organization, and management workflow that VST Manager is designed to provide.

What's Available Now

  • Windows Version: Fully functional executable available for download
  • VST/VST3 Support: Complete scanning and management of VST and VST3 plugins
  • Stable Core Features: All essential plugin management functionality is working reliably

What's Coming Next

While the current alpha focuses on Windows with VST/VST3 support, several key expansions are already in development:

  • Mac Version: Currently in development and planned for the 1.0.0 release
  • DLL Compatibility: Additional plugin format support beyond the current VST scanner
  • AAX Support: Professional plugin format compatibility for Pro Tools users

Technical Implementation

The current limitation to Windows stems from the VST scanner component, which is currently available only as an executable. This technical constraint is being addressed as part of the cross-platform development effort.

Looking Ahead to 1.0.0

The official 1.0.0 release will mark VST Manager's evolution from alpha to production-ready software. Key goals for this milestone include:

  • Full Cross-Platform Support: Both Windows and Mac versions available
  • Expanded Plugin Format Support: DLL and AAX compatibility alongside existing VST support
  • Production-Grade Stability: Enhanced error handling and performance optimization
